Supplied by Velino river weir (Photo 2), CESECO first irrigation plan was realized in 1978-79 (Photo 3).
Further projects were subsequently provided aimed at supplying Leonessa, Bagugno plain and Cottano. The latter design included a 5 km long weir (Photo 4).
CESECO is currently engaged in the works updating and in the irrigation area expansion. It is in this frame that free surface canals were converted into full pipe canals.
In 2005 a preliminary design was delivered for further 2,000 Ha cultivated area. 2005 to 2006 the feasibility designs for the hydraulic management of resources as Salto river at Grotti di Borgorose and Sermida ditch were provided.
