A part of the ancient "Campagna", the coastal area of Agro Pontino, in Latina district, is characterized by a whole range of irrigation works drawing their hydraulic resources from springs spurting from the feet of the Lepini and Ausoni Mountain Chains (photo 1).
CESECO has been working in the area for over 15 years, collaborating at the Water Master Plan with the Consorzi, Rome University "La Sapienza" and Latium Regional Authority, and designing the irrigation schemes for North Latina area (lots I, II - 5,000 Ha) and Sisto Linea Canal (4,500 Ha), along whith two diversion weirs (Photo 3) and a group of pumping stations, fed by over 60 m high surge towers (Photos 4, 5).
More recently surveys, studies and analysis have been delivered for the low lying area of Gricilli together with the preliminary design for a water supply improvement of 10 m3/s from Tiber river. Pending the diversion authorization and with an additional funding, plans were also prepared for the connection to Liri-Garigliano rivers (Photo 2).
