12 km long, Vomano-Tordino pipeline envisaged steel and concrete CAP DN 1400 and 1200 diameters pipes laying (Photos 1, 2).
Originating from Pagliare water tank (121 m a.s.l. - 70,000 m3), the pipeline is formed by two up-stream controlled pipe siphons disconnected by a surge tower, placed at the 1 km long tunnel outlet (Photo 3), which, underpassing Vomano-Tordino. The aqueduct watershed, reaches Ripoli tank (30.000 m3/s) on Tordino river left bank at an elevation of 110 m a.s.l. The so conducted 1,5 m3/s discharge supply the irrigation networks spreading over the Tordino 4,000 ha plain in Teramo district (see: Large Irrigation Schemes - Cards 1, 8).
